Our Aims and Objectives

At Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative, we’re raising funds and promoting entrepreneurial initiatives towards seeing an end to hunger. We believe no one should be without food or go to sleep hungry because there is more than enough food produced in the world to feed everyone, yet 815 million people go hungry, according to the United Nations.

Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative aims to support the United Nations' Global Goals for Sustainable Development to improve people’s lives by 2030. We are joining the international community towards achieving goal number 2 focusing Zero Hunger – which pledges to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.

We hope to make an impact by not just giving youths in Nigeria the fish but teaching them how to fish by:

1. Providing business financial support and vocational empowerment to the less privileged entrepreneurs under our Community Wellness activity.

2. Sponsoring food baskets every month for less-privileged families with incapacitated or disabled breadwinners. Entrepreneurs who receive our grants also benefit from this project as we award them food baskets for a minimum of two months to prevent them from spending their grant money immediately for food and other necessities.

3. Encouraging communal farming and crop cultivation among disadvantaged families or communities with able-bodied youths to make sure they have continuous supply of food and a means out of poverty.

4. Providing schoolchildren in impoverished areas with nutritious meal a day.

Our Goal

Our goal at Banish Hunger Nigeria Humanitarian Initiative is to empower entrepreneurs towards self-sufficiency and sustenance in order to align with the United Nation’s global goals for sustainable development that aims to improve people’s (entrepreneurs) lives by 2030 targeting zero hunger. We are aligning with this goal because it pledges to end hunger, achieve food security, improve nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. The UN recently warned that without efforts to reform global food systems, its target of zero hunger by 2030 will be missed. This makes it more important for us to put our hands on deck and contribute the little that we can to fight hunger at the grassroots levels through entrepreneurial skills building and funding.
